Spectrum Pt. 4: Monotheism

The three great world religions that believe in one true God are Judaism, Islam and Christianity. All three religions who their best to come to terms with the concept of one true God who is above all else. The conclusions are not the same though. Christianity believes in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). The early Church began to speak of God as Trinity not to explain the mystery but to preserve the mystery. It is a mystery that is both explained and explored. The term perichorestis was used to speak of the divine dance. The unending flow of giving and receiving love between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the pattern reflected in reality. Everything in the universe is relational. Nothing stands alone.
